Weber Q100: Tailgating Necessity
Just face it, tailgating during football season is America’s second pastime. But you know if you’re going to do it right, you have to make sure you don’t forget these 5 essential things at your next tailgating party. Otherwise, you might just go ahead and not even go.
Of course we can’t start out the basic list of tailgating essentials without discussing the most important item of all. The grill! For years, I’ve seen people drag out their grill from home, or those flimsy metal table top grills. But if you want to do it in style and impress your friends, you have to use a Weber Q100. The Weber Q100 will have your friends envious of your prowess and they’ll be wanting to take over cooking duty just to be able to use it.
However, this discussion isn’t about what you wouldn’t dare forget to bring, like the Weber Q100. We’re here to talk about what you will likely forget to bring that is a must have. So let’s do that now.
Weber Q100: Essentials you just can’t forget
1. Canopy – I grew up in the south and during the first hot months of football, you just couldn’t have a picnic or tailgate party out in the direct sun. So a canopy is a must have. Plus on top of that it’s a beacon letting your friends know where you are. Passersby will know that you’re a serious tailgater if you have a canopy up and ready to roll. Plus it will protect your Weber Q100.
2. Folding table(s) – Long gone are the days where some friends would pull up in a parking lot, open the gate of their truck, open the cooler and enjoy the day. Today, tailgating is a serious pastime. You’ve got to do it in style and with pizzazz. Another great way to demonstrate that is breaking out a few folding tables for your friends. Even better, throw down a table cloth of your teams colors! Then setup an area just outside of the tent with the Weber Q100 on the table. Or even better bring along your folding Weber rolling cart. Then spread out your food and really enjoy the game with your friends.
3. Flags and Banners – You have to make sure that when you represent, you REPRESENT! Break out the team colors, prop up the flags, tie balloons on the canopy. Do whatever you have to do to show those around you that you support your team.
4. Chairs – This goes with your tables, because you know you need somewhere for everyone to sit while enjoying the afternoon, around your table and cooking great food on your Weber Q100. Most of the tailgating events will end up lasting for sometimes up to 5 hours. So you have to take some time off your feet to relax. You’ll find some great options on camping and folding chairs at your local sporting good stores. I’ve found some for even as low as $5-$10. So be sure to bring along a few extras for your friends. They will thank you.
5. Trash Bags – Now as a responsible adult, one of the best things that you can bring to a tailgate party are trash bags. Keep the area where you are parked clean. This is one of the best ways to respect the area you’re at, the people around you and especially the workers who have to clean up the area once you leave. Leave the area cleaner than when you arrived. Just setup one hanging off the table, right next to the Weber Q100.

So if you be sure not to leave these things at home, you’re going to have the best tailgate party in the area. Plus your friends and family will thank you for remembering to bring those things that they all forgot. So get out there, fire up the Weber Q100 and enjoy the game!
